San Antonio Spurs: Predicting NBA 2K22 Start and Finish Rankings
This is my favorite time of the NBA season! Just kidding - it would be a play-off day, a free agency day, or a trade deadline. But the 2021-22 season is nearing the start for the San Antonio Spurs and the rest of the league.
This marks another (hopefully better) version of NBA2K, fresh with new player ratings that rate every NBA player from 0 to 99. To those unfamiliar with the game, it probably sounds crazy. But those who know or at least follow the NBA's Twitter know how real NBA players judge their ratings personally. Even their own athletes come for them from time to time - just ask Zion Williamson.
Honestly, I can't blame the players! Earning the merit it deserves is a source of pride and affirmation not only for players but also for their fans. And last year, Spurs didn't get the respect the team deserves.
This year I'm anticipating a more mixed bag than a blanket "all Spurs are underrated" but it will be tumultuous. I mean, I expect these ratings to change a lot over the course of the NBA season.
Nothing will be sexy or surprising as the first ratings drop when the game is out in less than a month. But since 2K has implemented a "live roster" that is periodically updated throughout the season according to players' actual performance, end-of-season ratings can be drastically different from the starting point.
This year, Spurs is getting interesting as a team full of young players looking to take advantage of more roles, minutes, opportunities and experiences can dramatically improve their grades almost overnight. Let's move on to my composition predictions.
