Madden 22: One Super Bowl LVI player should join Club 99
It's hard to believe that Super Bowl LVI has come and gone. For the second consecutive year, EA's Madden predicted a bad Super Bowl result.
Madden 22 Super Bowl simulation predicted Bengals would beat Rams 24-21. However, it was not so. It was a very fun Super Bowl from start to finish and no one really knew how the game would end. Although the Rams took the lead 13-10 at halftime, it wasn't a great second half for the Los Angeles Rams as a whole.
The Cincinnati Bengals changed their scenario in the third quarter and took the lead 20-16 less than two minutes from the end of the game. After a two-minute warning in the fourth quarter, it was officially a Stafford / Kupp show. Matthew Stafford found Cooper Kupp for a 1-yard touchdown with 1:25 left. That would eventually become the winning touchdown and give the Los Angeles Rams a second Super Bowl win.
Cooper Kupp eventually won the Super Bowl LVI MVP title, and for good reason. Not only did he catch a winning touchdown in the game, he also had a different touchdown earlier in the game.
Kupp performed impeccably during the Super Bowl LVI and is one of the best receivers in the NFL today. Amazingly, Madden 22 only has a rating of 97.
After the show Cooper Kupp showed the world last night, I think it's time to give him credit for being at the Madden 99 club. Kupp is also the best receiver in the NFL when it comes to playing after the catch.
EA Sports has already joined Club 99 in Madden 22 after Tom Brady announced his retirement. It's not like they can't do it again. And for what it's worth, Kupp has gained the upper hand in the Ultimate Team portion of the game.
Another thing EA Sports is waiting for is to add Cooper Kupp to the entire club 99 at Madden 23. Since the Los Angeles Rams won the LVI Super Bowl, I have no doubt that they will be among the top-rated. teams in Madden 23. Any of their best players should get a boost in Madden 23 as they are the reigning Super Bowl champions. EA may wait to get Kupp that credit in the next video game, but there's really no better time to do it than now.
Madden 22 has so much life. If Madden 23 has the same release schedule as previous Madden video games, we can expect a release in August. That said, Madden 22 should be another six months or so. That's plenty of time to do mid-year updates and keep your current video game as updated as possible. Even though he should be the player to join Madden 99 in Madden 22, I have no doubt that Cooper Kupp will be 99 overall in Madden 23.
