Diogo Jota: Liverpool star left FIFA 22 tournament early
The Portuguese forward scored two goals in the first half in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Southampton, scoring seven Premier League goals this season.
Jota is in the form of his life now and it's hard to see Roberto Firmino return to Jurgen Klopp's base as he returns from his injury.
As most football fans know, the ex-Wolves man is just as good at the EA Sports franchise as he is at real football.
Jota, an avid player in the popular game, won the inaugural ePremier League tournament in April 2020, defeating current teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final.
He also became the number one player in the FIFA rankings in the world, having suffered an injury in February which is an achievement.
Luckily for Liverpool, Jota still prefers real matches to virtual ones.
The 24-year-old took part in the FIFA 22 tournament on Saturday morning but had to interrupt in the fourth round to catch the Reds' game against Southampton.
Twitter user @Lyamooo_ shared his news online with Portugal international Jota, who said in the match chat: "I can't play so I will miss the check-in."

Jota paid tribute to his love for FIFA during Southampton's visit to Liverpool.
He celebrated his first goal - which he scored after just 97 seconds - by sitting on the floor mimicking himself playing on a gaming console. What a legend!
