What fans really want from the NBA 2K series
Same game, different name? Over the past few years, the NBA 2K series has been tested for no improvement. Every player remembers when #Fix2k20 was gaining popularity at launch, because the game contained so many bugs that it was almost impossible to play it. What do the fans really want?
We summarized how fans want to fix NBA 2K below by talking about issues and potential improvements in the areas of the game.
1. Micro-transactions relaxed, but still a bit aggressive
Micro-transactions have long been rooted in the game, so players spend real money on extra income. It is noteworthy that NBA 2K has softened this a bit in 20 reps of the game, but it can still be a bit aggressive because VC occurs in almost every game mode.
MyTeam, MyCareer and MyGM encourage players to buy NBA 2K VC to make progress in the game faster. Players often quickly notice this because it created a bad franchise image.
2. Excessive pressure on grinding
Although the series has made some improvements in this regard due to the relatively faster grinding, it still seems a bit difficult when players have to grind for a week or two to see the noticeable benefits.
This means that NBA 2K Sports would prefer that players spend on VC rather than on grinding. This is another red flag that seems to give players the feeling that 2K Sports prefers to get every cent from its players rather than let them enjoy the game.
3. Shaky online servers
The difference compared to offline and online gameplay is still noticeable. While offline play is basically as smooth as silk, online play seems a bit delayed, which requires drastic adjustment on the part of the player. In addition, there are clear problems with the inability to invite users to leagues and problems with servers that prevent them from getting promoted. Combine this with several extremely long loading screens, and 2K Sports has a recipe for disaster when today's name is speed and performance.
4. Every NBA 2K seems to be the same game overall
It supports 2K Sports for many additions to the game, such as WNBA, refurbished MyCareer and 3-on-3 Pro-Am. However, it is a double-edged sword that fans have been studying for a long time. Year after year, 2K Sports does not seem to bring anything new to the table.
From time to time, small improvements appear, but fans are not important enough. NBA 2k must innovate, not just improve.
The NBA 2K series has undoubtedly improved the graphics, basketball and various game modes. It is worth noting that WNBA was finally added in the 2k20 version, which was one of the biggest headers before it was released. Therefore, it can be argued that the series tries to improve from year to year, contrary to popular belief.
However, expectations for these improvements make fans disappointed and carefully analyze the game. If the NBA 2K series can track down and relate to the little things that fans expect, the series can see its splendor again ...
