Velganos: Unmentioned Tips

I've recently dropped Velganos with a 1385 increase deathblade. 13 minute kill. It wasn't an ideal run, and it required a number of times, however I did notice something that wasn't talked about in any guides I read. This guide is for people who have looked over other guides that are simple or have tried the challenge.

Light Stacks

Maintaining stacks is vitally important. The majority of guides emphasize the importance of three stacks. However, the dmg reduction of five stacks is vital for melee players who will be inevitably affected by things such as tail swipes in the course of the fight. Also, he takes less damage when spawning them alongside the dark circles, which means you should be collecting them as he goes about this. Don't be afraid of walking through the dark areas. You have plenty of time to wait before they explode. Do not confuse them with the dark lightning strikes of his. These should be avoided.

Stagger Check

The animation is easy to recognize However, you shouldn't be using your stagger skills too quickly. I made the error of using whirlwinds as well as stagger CDs prior to the gold emblem appears beneath the player and he begins to turn into place. The stagger won't work when you try to use them prior to when and you'll end up wondering the reason they didn't function.

Combos

There are several skills that he enjoys using together. He stomps on the ground with his paw . This is followed by a tailspin, which can knock you down when it makes contact. If he does land it, he typically does this with a deep breath.

This can be fatal in the event that your roll is recorded on CD.

There are several charges that are different. Be careful not to be hit in the face by the silver charge, where the person disappears before. If you are able to dodge it, do not jump to him too quickly, as the guy likes to follow it up with a roar which is a lot of times a hit. There is a less than telegraphed gold charge, which causes less damage. Do not be worried if you happen to get struck by this charge. Also, he comes with an blue (counterable) charge that is counter-able. It's just a little rapid to effectively counter. He is known to then follow up with an elusive tail swipe.

Melee classes could get the majority of their harm due to his tail attack that has a telegraph with a brief length. The player leans forward and then running behind himself using his tail. He then follows with an arcing, wide left-to-right broad sweep in his rear (his rear left side to his right rear). The sweep is the one you're trying to avoid.

Dark Breath

The majority of guides advise against using the counter, but I discovered it to be safer to try counters most often. There's a safe zone below his head (and I'm referring to directly) and the an earth cleaver that pushes can be great to get there occasionally.

There are times when you won't be able to turn the counter to stop in time, but it will be able to get you free of AOE. However, you must use your judgment of distance and time to determine the possibility of this. Sometimes, you just have to sprint to his sides. Avoiding him isn't advised as the AOE expands as it gets closer to him.

Enragement

He gets angry at 30% HP and that's when the real fight begins. The key to success is patience. keep stacks. The dark zones summon him (the ones that were used to summon light stack zones prior to enrage) appear to last for a long time and it will feel as if there's no floor to move about on. In addition, trying to get him off the walls could greatly reduce the damage you suffer, but be cautious as losing stacks could result in more damage. Do not panic when the clock is ticking down.

Pizza

There are guides that say the author has two fakes to each real one. This isn't true. First pizzas are authentic and the rest are an imitation. Be wary of fakes since he'll either make either a roar or ground smash. You can avoid your first attempt by being in front of the AOE as you'll probably already have lighter stacks.

Extras

The map is the main opponent in this battle. There are times when you'll be lucky and the map will be far from your starting point. Certain zones are more narrow than others. If you encounter a poor starting point and a slow start do not be afraid to close the mission rather than throwing away your battle equipment. If you're in a hurry with flares, keep them in reserve for after you've inspected both zones. Avoid pheromone bombs unless you enjoy the zone you're in. It is better to place him nearer to the beginning when you're planning to lose a few lives. Back attack classes be able to make them flinch from the walls which is why it's important to take a moment to help him regain his focus. Also be sure to take a break when you are getting frustrated. I've had a failure at 4 percent, 3% 0.3 percent as well as a few 10%s. My patience was waning after these, so I worked on other material.

This is what really I noticed and there's plenty left to be desired. Please feel free to add any comments or ask any questions.
