Stardew Valley How to Fish - A Fishing Guide
Stardew Valley is a game that is synonymous with relaxation where you slowly take your mind off the task of making your virtual farm life as perfect as possible. Maybe you are building something new, planting plants, or even enjoying someone from the village.
You may also be interested in fishing. But how do you fish in Stardew Valley? That's where we come in, with everything you need to know about fishing in Stardew Valley in our comprehensive fishing guide.
The basics of fishing in the Stardew Valley
Once you've got your fishing rod, you're ready to go fishing in Stardew Valley. Just walk up to the body of water and let it have some fun, although there are a few things to keep in mind when learning to fish.
First you have to throw the rope over the water. Once you start fishing you will see a little bar - this is your casting bar - try to aim for the green in the bar whenever possible. This will not only increase your throwing distance, but may also give you a chance to make a "Max" roll. If you manage to hit a few bubbles during the throw, so much the better, because fish bite faster and you can catch really rare fish.
When you have eaten a snack, you will find out after the exclamation mark that appears above your character's head. When that happens, start hesitating. Here you have two stripes that you need to watch out for.
A progress bar will appear on the right side, letting you know how close you are to landing the fish - and how close the fish is to the exit.
The second bar is a fish bar with a fish icon that moves depending on how difficult the fish is. Your task is to hold a small green rectangle known as a fishing rod above the image of a small fish. You need to hold down the button Use the tool to make the fishing rod pop out. When you release the button, the fishing bar will drop.
When the progress bar is full and the fish icon appears in the fish bar, catch a fish. Congratulations! If you can do without the fish icon ever leaving your fishing bar, you get the perfect catch bonus that gives you extra experience.
