FIFA 22 Season 2 will finally relegate Division Rivals players

FIFA 22 players are urging EA to lower the Division Rivals level throughout the year as fans are stuck in rankings too high for them. In season two of Ultimate Team, fans will finally grant their wish, but there's a catch.
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team has made many changes to the popular Division Rivals mode, abandoning the skill-based system of previous years and moving up the progression ladder along with checkpoints.
The new system didn't take that much time per week and made qualifying for the FUT Champions Playoffs relatively easy, but players quickly got stuck in the top leagues and couldn't win another match.
Fans have appealed to EA to reinstate the relegation to Division Rivals, and their calls will be answered in the second season of FIFA 22 FUT, which will drop on Friday, November 12.
EA confirmed on Twitter that FUT Season 2 will reset to Division Rivals progress. But instead of having players relegated from the league by losing matches during the season, each Rivals player gets a one-time relegation.
They also said that instead of sending every player back to Division 10 to start all over again, the number of ranks that will drop will depend on which Division you complete Season 1 in.
FUT Champions players can rest assured that they will not lose any points or chips when Season 2 arrives, but all unfinished playoff rounds will be reset to the start.
This latest revision increases the number of FUT Champions Points needed to qualify for the Season 2 Playoffs to 2,000.
How does Division Rivals relegation work in FIFA 22 Season 2?
Any player who lands in Division 6 or above on Friday will be relegated by two tiers - including the Elite League. Those in Division 7 or 8 are only demoted by one rank and each of the two lowest ranks remains where it is.
While this isn't the relegation return fans have been asking for, it will certainly please those who have been stuck in the top leagues for weeks to be able to progress in the league again.
It's also a win for elite players who don't have to return from Division 10 to earn the best rewards again.
EA has not yet revealed whether it plans to change the format later in the season if players start hitting the skill wall like they did in Season 1.
