Diablo 4: A Guide to Speeding Up Progression
Diablo 4 offers an exhilarating gameplay experience, and if you're looking to speed up your progression in the game, we've got you covered. Whether you're a seasoned Diablo player or new to the franchise, these tips will help you make the most out of your journey in Sanctuary.
Embrace Seasonal Characters
Seasons are back in Diablo 4, and they provide an excellent opportunity for character progression. The current Season of Blood introduces the Vampire Lord Zir and his campaign against mankind, with Vampire Hunter Erys seeking your help to stop them. Engaging in this 90-day event allows you to access new questlines, mechanics, bosses, and exclusive items that won't be available after the season ends.
Creating a Seasonal Character grants you additional chances to acquire better gear and earn higher EXP rewards. Take advantage of the random Blood Harvest events, which are similar to Helltides, as they offer opportunities to upgrade Season-exclusive Vampiric Powers and challenge Bloodseeker bosses for greater rewards.
Expedite the Main Story
To expedite your progress in Diablo 4, consider focusing on completing the main story as quickly as possible. While you can level up and obtain better gear through dungeons and side quests across Sanctuary, it is theoretically possible to complete the main story without them.
By following the correct path, you can finish Act 6 at approximately Level 42 to 45, equipped with basic Legendaries and Altars of Lilith buffs. Over-leveling can make it easier to defeat bosses, but the most valuable gear in Diablo 4 is often found in the post-campaign unlockables.
Swiftly Acquire a Mount
Finishing the main story in Diablo 4 also grants you access to Mounts. Mounts become available when you complete "Donan's Favor" in Act 4's Kyovashad, enhancing your exploration capabilities, especially when delving into dungeons to find better gear.
Unlocking the Mount for your first character will unlock it for all characters on your account. This means that if you want to power-level new characters, you won't have to trek through Act 4 again to gain faster movement options.
Make the Most of Current Gear
As with previous Diablo titles, Diablo 4's endgame heavily relies on gear for optimal builds. Legendary sets offer powerful skill buffs, but acquiring them often involves grinding in the late game. When you're looking to speed up your progression, it's more practical to make do with the gear you currently have.
Even if you can only find Uncommon, Rare, and a few Legendary pieces of equipment, it's advisable to create builds around them. Diablo 4's skill progression system allows for easy adjustment of builds based on the best gear available at the moment. Moreover, as you progress further and engage in grinding activities, you'll likely come across the desired Legendaries, making it more sensible to invest in Legendary hunting later in the game.
Build Around Existing Aspects
While the endgame in Diablo 4 revolves around creating powerful builds to wreak havoc on the battlefield, focusing solely on that can significantly slow down your early-level progression. Don't delay your progress by waiting to accumulate powerful items for later. Instead, create builds based on the Aspects you acquire during your playthrough.
Aspects are special properties extracted from Legendaries that can be applied to existing Rare and other Legendary items. These buffs can shape the current focus of your character as you breeze through the early parts of the game. While builds based on Aspects may not deliver the highest damage, they maximize the current buffs available to you, ensuring optimal DPS and survivability.
