Chivalry 2 – Everything You Need To Know
Perhaps the best way to describe Chivalry 2 is to say that it’s the Battlefield of medieval fighting games. Essentially, Chivalry 2 is a massive online multiplayer battle fest in which players take up bow, sword, axe and mace against one another in a variety of iconic battles from the era. From bloody skirmishes to flaming arrows raining upon your noggin all the way through to massive castle sieges with masses of players decked out in their shiny finest, Chivalry 2 ticks all the boxes of medieval combat bingo that one would expect.
Chivalry 2 Vs Mordhau – Which One Is Better?
Certainly, you don’t need to have 20/20 vision to see that Chivalry 2 looks rather similar to Mordhau, another sword and shield battler which was released back in April 2019. Which one is better though? Well for a start, both are extremely similar in that each boasts a massively violent, competitive online multiplayer offering where players hack each other to pieces with oversized melee weapons across a variety of different battles.
Where Chivalry 2 pulls ahead though, is in two principal areas. First of all, Chivalry 2 is much more accessible to newcomers, allowing even the most fresh faced knight squire to have fun on the battlefield alongside more seasoned veterans. The other point of distinction is in how Chivalry 2 doesn’t quite take itself quite so seriously as Mordhau, permitting players to throw everything from severed heads to immolated chickens at one another. Monty Python would surely approve.
Chivalry 2 Classes
In Chivalry 2, players can choose from four different classes, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, traits and abilities. The Knight, as you might expect, is the resident damage dealer and damage soaker, boasting super thick plate armor and wielding massive two-handed swords that strike fear into the hearts of the opposition. Elsewhere, the Vanguard is an agile, if less armoured fighter that leverages longer range polearms and halberds to keep their foes at arms length.
Meanwhile, the Men At Arms aren’t only able to use shields, but also have a much higher evasion potential than any of the other classes, making them a superb choice for defensive minded players. Finally, as you might well expect the Archer is all about that long range damage; raining down grief upon their enemies with arrows and flaming shafts, while proving to be the weakest of all the classes in Chivalry 2 when it comes to melee combat.
Chivalry 2 Weapons
In Chivalry 2, having the right weapon is just as important as having the correct class and there are plenty to choose from. Aside from the usual longswords, claymores, axes, clubs, maces, spears and so on, Chivalry 2 also boasts a wide range of specialised weapons and traps for players to get their chain mail mitts on. Ranging from wall busting battering rams, catapults and trebuchet to spike traps and ballistae, Chivalry 2’s selection of mortal coil smashing tools are both massively devastating and super satisfying to use while also providing ample incentive for players to level up their chosen class too.
