A guide to the secret levels of Minecraft Dungeons
While Minecraft Dungeons may seem like a fairly straightforward hack and slash attempt at first, there are plenty of secret levels, nooks and crannies that help give the game a lot more depth than you initially think. With that in mind, we're taking a look at Minecraft Dungeons secret levels and other hidden areas to help you make the most of Mojang's monstrous Minecraft spin-off.
How to find a creepy crypt
Discovered in the Creeper Woods story mission, Creepy Crypt is actually quite easy to find. When you save the poor, unlucky bastard on a mission, there will be a path that winds to your left. Follow this path to the end and you will discover the enormous structure of the temple. Here, just press the button on the right side of the front door (it's close to the ground) to open it.
Once inside, don't forget to interact with the shiny map on the screen, otherwise the secret Creepy Crypt level will not be unlocked. It's also worth noting that all secret levels will be added to your main mission map, so you'll be able to access them anytime after unlocking them.
How to find a Swamp Cave
Soggy Cave is a secret level found in Soggy Swamp, but it's one of the more frustrating secret levels you can find as it requires a lot of luck whether you have access to it or not. This means that you will likely need to repeat the level several times, even after following the instructions below.
Assuming Lady Luck is smiling at you to get to Soggy Cave, you'll need to make your way through the Soggy Swamp's feeding zone. After activating the secret, the main path branches and leads to a completely new cave, right before the Corrupted Cauldron boss from Soggy Swamp. To unlock the secret level, Soggy Cave, just step inside, flip the switch and search the map.
How to find Arch Haven
The most interesting secret of Minecraft Dungeons Pumpkin Pastures is undoubtedly the hidden secret level of Arch Haven. However, as with both Soggy Cave and Lower Temple levels, Arch Haven doesn't always show up, so be prepared for lots of Pumpkin Pasttures competitions.
The method for finding the secret Arch Haven level (assuming you're on the right side of the RNG equation) is that in the first half of the level you should see a winding path next to the side of the towering fortress. Following this path will lead you to the pirate ship, after which you will have to go down to the lower decks and defeat all the monsters to loot the map that unlocks the secret Arch Haven level.
Just a word of caution: don't get discouraged if you are in a huge fight for the appearance of a pirate ship. Many players have mentioned that it will take several hours, so if you are determined to find it, you may have to spend a lot of time (and patience) to get the job done.
How to find the lower temple
Another of those annoying random secrets that don't always show up, the lower tier temple secrets can be found in the Desert Temple mission; assuming you were lucky enough to run it at all.
If you are lucky, the way to access the lower secret temple level is fairly simple. After finding a door that can only be opened with a golden key, head into the next room where you'll find three switches. Just move them all and the drawbridge will be raised up so you can take the card, which in turn will give you access to the secret level of the lower temple.
How to find Underhalls
No more random triggers in secret levels! It's located at the beginning of the Highblock Halls mission, all you need to do is go down the huge stairs until you discover a wall with a pair of shields mounted on it. Just interact with one of the shields and a secret door with an Underhalls card inside will open. After being looted, you can simply interact with the map and gain access to the Underhall's secret level.
